This is the full JOAT LAB portrait experience. I create the reference image through a directed photoshoot- shaping lighting, mood, composition, and visual narrative- then translate that image into a one-of-one watercolor painting.

Clients who want to be seen through an artistic lens. Ideal for creatives, collectors, and those commissioning a legacy piece rather than a likeness.
This commission is fully authored from concept to final artwork.

Highest level of detail and storytelling
Full creative direction and visual authorship

2-3 revisions included
Client Requirements
Must be available for the JOAT LAB photoshoot (Location: Twin Cities, MN)
Must trust the artistic vision, this option includes stylistic freedom
One final image will be chosen → One painting will be made
Guidelines & Boundaries
Artist retains full creative direction of lighting, color palette, cropping, & style
Composition is final, no compositional revisions
Additional portraits / additional chosen photos = additional cost
Investment & Payment
40% non-refundable deposit due at booking
Remaining 60% due upon completion, before delivery or shipping
Rush term available at additional cost
Note: All prices are “starting at” and finalize after consultation. 40% non-refundable deposit required to book. Artist retains reproduction rights.

Client owns the physical artwork only
Estimated timeline: 2–6 weeks depending on medium & size
